Botox is now the Drug that can Treat Everything

Depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects the way you think, feel and act.  It is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness.

As of now, botox is used for treating migraines, overactive bladders, sweaty palms, depression, twitching eyes, excessive underarm perspiration, and certain type of neck pains.  Researcher Dr. Eric Finzi of Chevy Chase Cosmetic Center says that even though botox is commonly used for cosmetic purposes it has nothing to do with looks.  Negative emotions are all go through muscle and botox inhibits the muscle and help it to calm down by blocking the facial expressions that send signals to our brain and ease mental health conditions so it becomes more difficult for a person to feel negative emotions.

Army Veteran Vivian Cooke has a long struggled with debilitating depression.  Ms Cooke already tried numerous alternative therapies and medications to cope with her symptoms before trying botox a cosmetic treatment 3 years ago.

Ms Cooke said that her mood on a daily basis becomes better and she had less problems with depression.

She participated on a clinical trial assessing botox in depression and even though the study was finished, Ms Cooke said that she still wants to continue receiving botox injections.

Botox is a prescription drug that is injected into muscles to block their nerve signals.  It is used to lessen frown lines between the eyes and crow's feet around the sides of the eyes.

Researchers are also investigating the possibilities of botox in treating social anxiety and bipolar disorder.
